Scotty’s Lakehouse – A Social Night Out
Okay, okay…so after much deliberation and badgering from our male counterparts and guy friends, we figured we’d invite some of the guys out so they can see we aren’t plotting against them and talking about them when they aren’t around. Usually our events are for ladies only, (ahem…GIRLS’ Pint Out), but we like to socialize with the guys too!
Check out the event page and register for your spot! No need to print tickets – you won’t need them at the door, we just want to keep a general head count for our records.
Scotty’s Lakehouse offers 24oz MUGS of Indiana crafted micro brewed beer for $4. We’ll be taking advantage of this fantastic deal at specially reserved tables in the bar area September 9th from 6:30pm until we’ve had our fill.
Bring your friends who haven’t had a chance to make it to a Girls’ Pint Out event yet, or bring your better(worse?) half if you’re not sure about coming out by yourself for the first time. As always, Scotty’s is a family-friendly establishment, so bring the kids along, too! We want to make it as easy as possible to come out and socialize with other craft beer friends in Indianapolis.
We’ll get to Scotty’s on September 9th starting at 6:30pm. Feel free to stay as long or as little as you like and your are responsible for your own tab. See Scotty’s Beer menu below, or check out their website for more information on the menu.

Review: Beer 101 – Ram Restaurant and Brewery
What a great time! Ross and Andrew at The Ram took such good care of us! We had a fantastic time, the beers were great, our tour was educational, we learned a lot, and overall, I think all of the ladies who attended were pleased with what we learned. We’ll be sure to host another for anyone who didn’t get the chance to attend, so keep an eye out, and read more about the beers we tried below.
As a special treat, the guys at The Ram lovingly renamed one of my favorite beers the “Girls’ Pint Out 71″ – yummy! See the full album on our Facebook Page and become a fan!!
Big Horn Hefeweizen
An unfiltered, authentic, German-style wheat beer utilizes a special German yeast strain to give this beer its characteristic cloudiness and banana-clove flavors.
Big Red Ale
An American style IPA, our Big Red combines the distinctive and assertive citrus flavor and aroma of Amarillo hops with a crisp, pleasantly bitter finish.
Total Disorder Porter
Rich and smooth, our award-winning brown Porter features the flavor of chocolate and caramel.
Buttface Amber Ale
Our medal-winning American-style Amber ale features malty caramel flavors and a smooth, slightly sweet finish.
Big Horn Blonde
Our nationally recognized Blonde ale is light in color and pleases with a mild, sweet and slightly malty flavor.
71 Pale Ale – “Girls’ Pint Out 71″
A distinctly drinkable Pale Ale brewed with a touch of rye and a blend of 5 hops. Deep copper in color with a sublte spicy rye character and an enjoyable hoppy flavor.
Beer 101 Ram Restaurant and Brewery
Ladies, are you interested in craft beer but not sure what “craft beer” even means?
Do you want to know the difference between an ale and a lager?
Join us for an exclusive event with The Ram Restaurant and Brewery’s Downtown Indianapolis location for Beer 101. The knowledgeable staff at The Ram will be putting us through the craft beer paces as we learn not only about how craft beer is made, but why craft beer tastes so different than your dad’s Bud Light.
The Ram is a private, independent, family-owned and operated restaurant business. They were born on February 26, 1971 when their founders took their entrepreneurial spirit and experiences they received making pizza and serving beer at Shakey’s Pizza Parlor to open their own restaurant.
From The Ram’s Website: In 1995 we launched the Big Horn Brewing Company. By brewing our own ales and lagers, we are able to offer our guests superior quality, nationally recognized, hand-crafted beers at value prices. During this time we created some of our first TV commercials, which can be viewed by clicking the link below.
This class includes a complimentary tasting of The Ram’s line up of house beers and we will be able to hang out after the class to enjoy their Brewmaster’s Pick Pint Night!
This event is designed for novice craft beer drinking femme fatales who want to learn more about craft beer in a relaxed and female oriented informal class.
If you’re already a gal who can’t go a day without her DIPA, don’t worry, we’ll have an extra hoppy event coming your way soon!
Be sure to RSVP Here – tickets are limited!
Dig-IN A Taste of Indiana Volunteers Needed
Girls Pint Out Indy has the opportunity to volunteer at Dig-IN, A Taste of Indiana on August 29th!
From the Dig-IN: A Taste of Indiana Website: On August 29, 2010, Indiana growers will make their way to White River State Park to showcase their high quality locally produced products, and remind Hoosiers there is much more than corn in Indiana. Dig-IN will feature educational discussion panels, cooking demonstrations, urban gardening exhibits, local chef Q&A sessions, wine tastings, beer and food pairing classes, and much more. Combining the freshness of farmer’s markets and our state’s greatest food minds, this event promises a feast for the senses. Prepare to learn from Indiana agricultural and culinary experts as they invite you on a journey from field to table top. Don’t miss the opportunity to help us celebrate all that Indiana agriculture has to offer.
Girls Pint Out will be volunteering in the Indiana Beer and Wine Tent! We need volunteers to restock ice, manage rinse stations, distribute wine & beer glasses, etc. A pouring license is not necessary for this event. We’ll be working in two shifts: 11:00-2:30pm and 2:30-6:00pm.
If you are able to volunteer, please email Tamre to register! We’ll give you more details about where to park, etc once we’ve confirmed you are volunteering!
Volunteer spots are limited, so sign up soon!

We're gals into grolsch. Ladies into lagers. Princesses into pilsners. Angels of ale. You get the idea.
